Who are Drax Business Energy?
Drax Group is one of the UK’s leading renewable power generators, supplying electricity primarily from sustainable biomass alongside hydroelectric generation and pumped hydro storage. Operating across multiple sites in England and Scotland, Drax plays a significant role in supporting the UK’s transition to a lower-carbon energy system and provides renewable electricity solutions to commercial, industrial and corporate customers.
Drax’s business energy offering focuses on supplying 100% renewable electricity, backed by its own generation assets. In addition to fixed and flexible electricity supply contracts, Drax supports larger organisations through services such as power purchase agreements (PPAs), tailored procurement strategies and longer-term renewable supply arrangements. These solutions are often used by energy-intensive businesses seeking price stability, sustainability credentials and greater control over energy sourcing.
Sustainability is central to Drax’s long-term strategy. The group has publicly committed to becoming the world’s first carbon-negative energy company by 2030, aiming to remove more carbon dioxide from the atmosphere than it emits. This ambition is supported by continued investment in bioenergy with carbon capture and storage (BECCS), alongside responsible biomass sourcing and renewable generation technologies.
With more than 20 years’ experience in renewable energy and energy services, Drax supports businesses at different stages of their decarbonisation journey. The group employs over 3,000 people across the UK and North America and combines large-scale renewable generation with customer-focused energy solutions, helping organisations reduce emissions while maintaining reliability, transparency and cost control.

Drax Business Energy Out of Contract & Deemed Rates
Businesses on out-of-contract or deemed rates often pay significantly more for their energy, as no active supply agreement is in place.
These temporary tariffs offer no price certainty and can increase quickly. Reviewing your current rates and switching to a fixed-term energy contract can help lower costs and give your business greater control over future pricing.
If no contract is agreed, businesses supplied by Drax Business Energy will automatically be placed on deemed or out-of-contract tariffs, which are typically far higher than standard fixed rates.
Businesses moving into premises already supplied by Drax Business Energy Gas will also default to these rates unless a new agreement is arranged. Securing a fixed contract early can result in substantially lower energy costs.
You should avoid staying on these rates any longer than necessary.

Drax Business Energy supplies 100% renewable business electricity only. It does not supply business gas and focuses exclusively on renewable electricity generated from sources such as sustainable biomass and hydroelectric power.
Drax offers several fixed-price electricity options, including Fix Complete, Fix Threshold and Fix Clarity, as well as flexible purchasing arrangements and power purchase agreements (PPAs) for larger or more complex organisations.

I am an administrator of a group of Care homes, and WeSave were extremely helpful in helping me secure attractive, competitive deals for our utilities going forward. What I like about this company is that they were not pushy at all and provide excellent customer service once you have secured the deals.
Mark Taylor
I'm treasurer of several operations within the village, covering 4 sites and 6 fuel contracts. Rob of WeSave was able to find and agree contracts for the sites which were due for renewal or out of contract and I will be happy for him to provide the remaining contracts as they become due. He gave a professional service and arranged everything for us.
The Beach House
After getting numerous quotes from various suppliers, we went with WeSave as they had the best prices and were easy to contact and deal with. The Customer Service, especially being able to speak with the same person regularly, made the switch very easy. Highly recommended

WeSave have made us savings of over £15,000 per year on green electricity and gas contracts across four of our properties so far. We have no hesitation in engaging WeSave to deal with all supplies across our portfolio, as the contracts come to an end, as we know that they will secure preferential rates with reputable suppliers.

The service was fantastic, I had the same guy call me each time. He was open and honest about charges etc, was nice and kind and very helpful, not pushy or rude. Will definitely use again. Thank you soo much
Raymond Nash
From my initial contact to speaking things through with Rob everything was made extremely simple and and at no time did I feel pressured in to making an immediate decision. It was a refreshing experience having dealt with numerous brokers and comparison companies in the past and to top it all they are actually based in Cornwall !!
Joise Warne
We Save was recommended to me by a fellow business owner, as they had a good experience for their electric comparison. We also had a very good experience and decided to go with their quote. Polite and courteous staff (we used Rob) and exceptionally good communication and timely responses. I am also assured that there is also very good after service should this be needed.
James Spargo
Excellent Service from Alex and the team. We worked together and they helped us all the way.
Highly Recommended!
